Dirk Nowitzki Leads Mavericks Defeat Thunder

DALLAS - United States for Dirk Nowitzki Mavericks. Dirk Nowitzki showed no rust from a long introduction, so that 10 of its first 11 shots and an NBA playoff record 24 straight free throws on his way to 48 points, including the Dallas Mavericks to a 121-112 victory over The Oklahoma City Thunder in Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals on Tuesday night.

Jason Terry scored 24 points and J.J. Barea has picked up 21 points as the Mavericks, where they left off in a sweep of the Lakers for nine days. She broke a close game with a 13-0 run late in the second quarter and never dragging, stretching their season franchise record winning streak to seven games.

Game 2 is Thursday night in Dallas, where the MIF are 6-0 this season.

The Thunder - Fresh from a seven-game series against Memphis to overtime, including four - led by nine early in the second quarter, went 6:28 between baskets. They missed 10 shots during the drought and was about 11 when it ended. She won with 16 before finally clawed within five points with 3:42 left to play, and six with 48.5 seconds.

Kevin Durant his 39 points in Game 7 of the previous round, followed by scoring 40, a fear of his ever in a playoff game. While Nowitzki scoring binge Durant dominates only helped his team stay close.

Russell Westbrook came from a triple-double in his last game 20 points, three assists and three rebounds. He missed 12 of his 15 shots, including 10 of his first 11 Despite his poor finish that he had taken more shots than Durant at a point at the end of the third quarter, fueling the critics that he is too much of a player and not enough to say, by a dealer.

The big problem was Thunder Nowitzki.

Six boys tried to stop, and the great German either shot or put them in the wrong problems. He made 13 free throws in the third quarter alone. And half as Oklahoma City defender on him, sent Nowitzki were usually left open teammates.

Nowitzki finished 12 of 15 and a perfect 24 of 24 from the line. It was that of everyone this season and two points ahead of its most ever in a playoff game. He also had six rebounds, four assists and four blocks.

How good was he? In turn, Nowitzki was the first time a player missed the ball back to him, and he found Tyson Chandler for a layup.

"I was really looking to shoot early and was able to get my rhythm after the first few shots," Nowitzki said. "I kept attacking and my teammates kept feeding me and feeding and I had an advantage over smaller number of players."

The Thunder came into the series not sure how it would handle Nowitzki as their usual defenders Jeff Green, who was traded in February. Serge Ibaka went to him, then got two quick errors, turning things over Nick Collison. Kendrick Perkins, Durant, Thabo Sefolosha and James Harden all services with little success.

When things tightened up in the final minutes, helped protect Nowitzki Dallas' lead to two bridges over the outstretched arms of 6-foot-10 Serge Ibaka and an assist on a 3-pointer with 28.9 seconds left by Terry. Cantos of MVP! "Sounded almost every time he went to the foul line in the fourth quarter.

Oklahoma City coach Scott Brooks going to have to figure something out fast.

The good news for Brooks is that his boys did the demolition of all the way to the end. Down much rested on the way to a good veteran team, they could play as a lost cause, and stored energy for the next game. Maybe they remembered Dallas's history, blowing big leads late. Earlier this season, the Mavericks coughed a 23-point lead on the last 14 minutes against Portland.

"It was closer than we did in the fourth quarter but we came through," said Nowitzki.

Shawn Marion scored 11 points and Jason Kidd had 11 assists and three steals. His only points came on a 3-pointer of Westbrook tries to bring him to one of those unfortunate double-team on Nowitzki.

After laying a playoff record with 20 3-pointers in his last game, missed the first six Dallas attempts behind the arc. The Mavericks finished 9 of 23 on 3-pointers. Terry was 4 of 10 in 9:08 of the close-out game against the Lakers.

The MIF were sharp and hit seven of their first 10 shots, only one radio in that they slide links to seven points at the start of the second quarter. Then they found the groove they had in their previous game.

Dallas scored 35 points in the period, including a track that was accidentally Perkins 13-0 elbow to the nose Spirit Marion began. Marion went writhed on the field as play continued. Officials did not notice and MAV coach Rick Carlisle got a technical foul on the way to his injured players, probably for pointing out what not to see.

The coach quickly cleared Marion and a gauze plug from his right nostril, it is part of the game was done changing, scoring the go-ahead basket on a dunk.
